A 4 stroke will get better fuel milage, run quieter and you don't have to mix oil/fuel. A two stroke will get a little better hole shot due to reving quicker and 43 with a full load should be quick enough (for me anyway).
To whom much is given, much is required.

I've got the same boat, great boat. Just stick with the motor you have. It's a great motor and I think it's pretty darn good on gas.

I agree. Keep the same motor. I have a Skeeter SX166 an a 70 horse 2 stroke Yamaha that pushes my Skeeter SX 166 43 mph. My brother has a 4 stroke 115 and it is just huge compared to a 2 stroke of the same horsepower. I think weight would be a factor. His boat is a foot longer and he gets the same mph I do.

Keep your motor. 2-stroke. All the way.

If you trade for a 4 stroke you will probably get a LITTLE better economy. Bet you never even come close to recouping your investment in fuel savings! (Educated opinion)

Keep the motor you have! What little you would save isn't worth the extra investment. The two stroke is quicker, less weight, and maybe a little louder running, and fuel economy won't be much difference pushing a lighter boat.
Just one more cast!

Only way I'd get rid of my 2 stroke would be for a like running 60hp 2 stroke.

I am currently running a 18ft xpress with a full 2 man tournament load, I can get 46 on GPS on a good calm day, average is 43-44mph. 90HP 4 stroke Yamaha. LOVE the gas mileage on it as well. Most ive used on a tournament day of running around quite far was about 9-10 gallons.

That's a good motor. I would run it as is. The 4 stroke will be heavier and require more maintenance. An aluminum boat like that will be greatly affected by the added weight.
