I have used them in the past with success, just don't see them that often anymore.

Me too WestTxJiggin. Bought them in a lot of tackle shops, 40 years ago, before the big box stores. Stores like Manning's on Race Street, Blue Top Bait Shop on HWY 199, and many others. I think when lots of stuff started to come from China, they could not compete.

Glad to see folks that remember and are still interested in FLE FLY! I am happy to report Fle Fly is alive and well - I bought the brand in May of 2012 and since that day have been reviving it and showing it to our buyers. Get this - We now offer Fle Fly products in Bass Pro, Cabelas, Walmart, and soon to be Dicks Sporting Goods. We are also very pleased to announce there are lots of new independent dealers and distributors stocking our Lead Free Jigs, Bendable Minnows and GO GO Minnows across the country! Fle Fly has always been well known across the south and middle of the country by many........lets say "more experienced anglers!" Now that Fle Fly has found it's way into main stream distribution with UPC Codes, part numbers (and all the other crazy stuff it takes to get on valuable retail shelves) Fle Fly has been a runaway success!!! We still offer chenille tied jigs but they are lead free now. We still tie in the US and we still use the same head design that was developed in 1952 by the original owner. We have chosen 10 very popular fish catching colors to continue the jigs legacy with. We offer jigs in 64, 32, 16, and even a big ole 1/8 size. After years of fishing new and innovative soft plastics lures with great straight tail actions, we decided to use a longer feather tail on all the Fle Fly lead free jigs. It was a great decision because the action of thee jigs is incredible in the water. Plastic is good in the water, but feathers in the water are AWESOME! WE WILL GET BETTER IMAGES OF THESE JIGS SOMETIME THIS SUMMER. The 32nd size is shown in the pic. Here is a link to the Fle Fly instructional video channel - http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQvtcyw3KUMRxJrh8OkkGRQHere is a lint to a video article by the Tulas Word. It talks a little about the jig history and Fle Fly brand history - Hope you give our products a try in 2014!

We started using the Fle-Fly in the late 50's. They were the go to lure for crappie. At that time we used only yellow ones or white ones, I don't remember if there were any different colors back then, different colors came later. The jig head was the same color as the body and feathers, but the jig head was covered with silver glitter just enough for the color to come through. This feature was dropped after a few years when the jig head colors choices changed from the color of the body. I plan on getting back to the Fle-Fly, how about you other slab happy folks??? Fish ON!!!

Lots of history for sure with the FLE FLY brand. It has been so may things to so many people that I am humbled to even say we now own it. We are so happy to be able to introduce it to other anglers across the country. Not many companies can advertise MILLIONS and MILLIONS of jigs and lures sold but FLE FLY can.

The tail in that last photo looks longer than the originals. I found about 25 original Fle-Flys is an old "Plano" jig box the other day. They must be at least 30 years old but they will still catch em. Fish ON!!!!
