Outside of more being better, do you wish you had two? In other words, is one good enough to keep you anchored?

I have a Largemouth at home....sometimes she lets me go fishing.

Wish i had two, rarely does one work well for me unless I can position bow is pointing directly down wind. Its really only good for putting down to keep from drifting too far off a spot when its windy, I can hold a position very well though

I started with one and used it for a year. I then added the second and it is a world of difference. If you can afford it get two and you won't regret it at all. The boat stays put. I fished a ledge last fall in 25 mph winds and never moved. I put the poles down on top of the ledge and Carolina rigged the ledge in 25 feet. Never touched the trolling motor.

Also, is the Sportsmen Series ($1395) solid and reliable?

In my opinion, one keeps you "anchored" just fine, but it allows bow to swing from side to side. It can be compared to a weathervane, where the bow will swing until its facing directly down wind. There's little tricks I've learned to deal with this more effectively and mainly just pay more attention to what direction wind is coming from and how to position before deploying. Also, I've found that the boat likes to swing only to the side opposite of the power-pole, when no wind is present. For example, if I want to pole down by a dock to load/unload, I put the opposite side of the boat against the dock. This helps prevent the bow from swinging out away from the dock when I'm getting the truck. I don't see myself adding a second one to my current rig, but my next boat will have two before it ever hits the water.

I have one and it is great but annoying as well. Like others have said unless you are fishing down wind it is not ideal. Yes it is better than none but I will for sure be adding a second as soon as funds allow.

I have the Sportsman II as well and I am pleased. Same pump as the other models.

If you have the money for 2 get 2 and be done!

If I commented, I'd only repeat the others. It swings, but it holds. I will add the nose in my experience isn't straight down wind, but more of an angle. Draw an imaginary line from the pole to the nose and that's about how it is.

I will add another when funds permit. I refused to finance the accessories when I bought my boat.

I did anchor in the outlet of a power plant lake and stayed put.

I used it once to stop the tail of the boat from hitting a rock dam once chasing a hung lure. Saved my bacon there!
