I have seen good reports from Tawakoni, Cedar Creek, etc, but nothing from Grapevine, Lewisville, Lavon, Eagle Mountain, Worth, etc.

Is any one having any luck or is it time to hit the highway?

Not doing well at Worth this month, I caught some nice ones in Nov and early part of Dec but this past month is tough, I have been seeing large schools of shad and marking fish feeding but I'm only catching eater size fish, all fish that are caught are fat and healthy, not finding much on the depthfinder until I reach deeper water (17 to 21 ft), I will keep you posted

Been good for me at the Vine until yesterday, big skunk. I've caught several in the teens and a couple 30s in the past month.

I often have a hard time in the dead of winter. I usually do pretty well in fall and spring. This is suppose to be the best time of the year to catfish, but I a seem to have a tough time. I notice that the guys that have the super high end electronics do very well this time of year. It is probably a combination of skill and bring able to drop the bait straight on the cat's nose.

I use old school lowrance 2d exclusively for deep water cat fishing. I have a little 798 sideimage unit that I use in the spring when fish are less than 8 ft deep.

The gene pool could use a little chlorine.

I wanted to hit the shallows yesterday but the family in with me and my wife and daughter refused to take a coat because it was "warm" at the boat ramp. I should of took one for then anyway but for some reason I didn't. They ended up wearing all of my stuff and still complained about being cold. So we headed home early.

I think it is one of those things like the "husband size fries". Not too long after I got married my wife stopped ordering from french fries with her hamburger because she said she was "on a diet". She then proceeded to eat half of my fries...as somehow the calories didn't count is she didn't order them. I soon learned to upside my fries, which I called the "husband size" fries. Few years later after the kids my wife got serious about the diet and no longer stole my French fries. Now they are called "father size" fries.

What is the point of this story....oh yeah I read remember...children and wives (and their father/husband) would be much better off of they would just listen to dad/hubby. But we all know that will never happen.
