I like a 1/4 oz bitsy gig with a Uncle Josh trailer but I cut the uncle josh down so it's not so fat.

For value, it's hard to beat the Hart Tackle justice jig. Decent weed guard and quality Mustad hook. Caught my biggest bass of the last three months with the black blue chunk trailer it comes with.

I have several, depending on the water temp, what and where I am fishing
Cold water - 40 - 50 degrees - 1/4 to 3/8 Black and blue with a pork chunk in black/Blue
50-60 degress - 1/2 oz, either in Black/blue same trailer as cold water, black and brown with watermelon/red trailer
After 60 it all depends on how they are feeding, will go from 1/4 to 3/4 in natural colors with trailers to match

I have fished just about every major brand of jig I can think of. I have narrowed it down to 2 that I use almost exclusively now
1. Terminator pros secret 1/4 oz finesse jig with wire weed guard. Trailer is paca chunk. Colors are black and blue and skeets secret. Both green pumpkin trailer.
2. Ike's gripper jig 3/8 oz. I take the second skirt that comes with bait off and add one of my own colors I make either Texas craw or pb and j with a green pumpkin excite raptor craw trailer. This jig stands up and puts the claws in perfect defensive position
Second always dip pinchers in chart or orange dye

I use the Combat Jig. Made locally and haven't had a single problem with them. They will flat catch the fish. Watermelon Red jig usually with crazy leg chigger craw trailer.

3/8 oz jewel jig in brown match with a brown net bait trailer. Or a 3/8 AT jig black/blue with sapphire trailer.
