If any of you guys are on Facebook, look at the Save Lake Texoma page. There is lots of good info there. We are in a drought no doubt, but they are still sucking water out of the lake. If you are not on Facebook then google Save Lake Texoma K10. There is a news story about the lake. Thanks for looking and tight lines!

Recreational users always get the short end when it comes to generating power or watering corn fields? I hear Ray Hub is dumping water out too? Sad!

Yakker nothing, you'll be hiking. Lowest in a long time.

Today, Dennis and I were floating out from Mill Creek shooting the bull and low and behold to what did our wandering eyes did appear but an ATV running around on the island.

Apparently, the water down by Wood Island is shallow enough to ford now.

Sad.

Launched at High Port today. It's getting to the 'iffy' point IMHO.

I live on Texoma and mfg product's for fishing Texoma, and other lakes. Know the lake is in bad condition, but all the negative post's here and on FB will keep people away. There's still places to launch your boat and fishing is good. Bitch at God for no Rain as much as you do the Corps.

I agree with you bandit 50 percent. I want the local guides and communities to keep making a living. Selfishly I want to be able to launch my boat. The loss of water is going to keep people away. There is a drought, but turning a blind eye is not going to stop the drain of the lake we all love in the long run. Tight lines.

My Dad worked for the Corps for 35 yrs, all in the Tulsa district most of that time was spent on the Texoma project it's the lowest he's seen the lake since 72 but this isn't all on the Corps the orders come higher up and they are just following orders..Mother Nature holds the rest of the cards pray for rain.

I live y'alls pain daily. I live at Lake Meredith. The water authority here pumped the lake until the intake tower couldn't get anymore water, then they put a pump out in the lake and pumped it into the intake tower. We were 100' low. We're "just" 93' low now. Most of the cities that take the lake water never implemented water conservation plans and never looked back. I now have to drive 2 hours to fish instead of 5 minutes. I hope Texoma doesn't do what Meredith did !!!

Meredith is in a whole different category than Texoma. It is a failed reservoir, due largely to sustained doubt and upstream dams.

And the water authority taking out way more than what's coming in. Sorry, it sounded to me that Texoma was dealing with a severe drought and the Corp. letting out more water than was coming in. Sounds very similar but I guess I'm looking at it wrong. Sorry for sympathizing with you !!!

Lake Spence is another example of misuse of water. Might as well ad the highland lakes onto to the list. Yes the drought has had an effect but the asshats in charge have compounded it

The Corp stated that the priority for Lake Texoma was not for recreation and fishing as that is not what it was built far.

Apparently they are going to continue to let out water until it gets in the 590 range.

If you don't have your boat in a boat slip OUT AWAY from the bank, you might not be able to launch at all in a month.

We've invited someone from the Corp to post their stance on Six Old Geezers.

So far, no COE takers.
