I have a buddy who's a striper guide back home he says he fish everyday to stay on the fish.He says every good striper guide has to do this to keep clients on fish. He'll even fish when he doesn't have a trip . My question is do bass guide do that? Especially this time of year. Lake level change , areas silt in. Do bass guide pre fish for guide trips or do they go by seasonal patterns and proven old spots?

I can tell you the great ones I know do. Tommy Law on Falcon and Andrew Grills on Fork. How can you expect to put your clients on fish if you don't know what's up? I know Andrew fishes 6 days a week even now.

Those two are the best in the biz if you are looking for a guide!

They do both, this time of year it is slow in the guide business so not good business decision to fish every day. I think the good guides will go out a day or two before trips to fine fish before clients get there if they have not fished in a while.

That's a slippery slope! They aren't the only guides bustin their tail to put clients on fish. Their are several outstanding guides on Fork...Garrett, Moody, Margraves, Pack, Duplechane, Malone, Caldemeyer, etc... Why the heck would you post a comment like this that slights all the other guides that are every bit as good.

Why bust the guys chops! He didn't say the others were bad, just gave HIS opinion on who's the best.

It's time for some warmer weather so these grumpy fisherman can get back on the lake.

If he hasn't used several of the other guides, how does he know who is best?

No matter how many he's tried, he still wouldn't know. That's why it's an opinion.
