So some "two-part" articulated flies cut the hook off the front half since the strikes happen on the back half (they are attached by steel wire)

So someone could tie these on long shanked hooks, and someone could cut the barb off.

I guess the tie is so simple, someone could learn how to do it.

Oh, and I live pretty close in Rockwall

so for the record, I made up a mess using hooks, but I don't think that is right considering what this is used for. If I had to do it again, I would have tied these on bobby pins, attaching the thread to make an eye. Cheaper, and it doesn't require cutting down the hook.

You can buy the straight wires with a loop in one end at Barlows.
That trailer is real easy to tie up. I have made those for years.

I looked at Barlows today for the straight wire with a loop. The guy behind the counter did not have a clue as to what I wanted but, something like that would work perfect.

The way I shortcut the system at Barlows is to go to the counter and find your item in their catalog and have the guy behind the counter pull what you need from the back. Works great and it is very easy. They do great work when you can give them the part number.

Another option is to get something like Tooth Proof Tournament Pro Grade Stainless Steel Leader Wire. #09

Here is a picture. I don't know about this place to buy, I just hit a search, and found it right away. You can use round nose pliers to make a loop, or bend it around something round, and small. Then you can tie the two pieces together, whip finish, and put a little super glue on it. I use Gorilla super glue with the BLUE label. Let them dry, then use them to tie your trailers.
