im located in austin and i want to know of a good garfishing spot near me. preferably off the bank, i have a whole bunch of questions ,but for now i want to start with a location

I don't know if anyone will give up their honey holes or not, or what species of gar you're wanting to catch, but rivers and bayous usually seem to be the easiest places around here to get into gar off the bank. May want to look around at some of those and the more remote the better.

yeah, what Nick said. Any bayou or canal. Just scout em out and watch for their behavior. Gar can live in water with very little oxygen.


Trying to catch anything that swims.
