So I've gone out the last 5 times to different lakes, whitney, waco, waxahachie, joe pool and ray hubbard and have got 0 fish in the boat. During early dec i was catching but can't seem to understand what the fish are doing now.

Anyone have any insight and advice? not looking for spots just better understanding of where, how and what to do once on the water. advice.

thanks!

I'm glad I haven't been fishing but twice. zero'd once. and smacked the crappie once.

here today, gone tomorrow. even some of the best on Hubbard have bad days.

My advice... go to a powerplant lake and hope they are generating.

Water's too cold. Period. Save your gas and maintenance, get the Honey-dos done now, and get ready to go late February.

Yea you jump in the lake and see if you want to eat. Water temp on Fork yesterday 46 degrees.

Fish one lake 5 times instead of the other way around. It's hard to figure them out on multiple different lakes when the bite is slow.

Good advice! I zeroed the last 2 times out in December. So far in January I've painted and installed new lighting fixtures in two bathrooms, and working on one other bathroom and the kitchen. But still have the fishing fever and have an eye out for a low wind/sunny/slightly warmer water day! The key, of course, is night-time temperatures.

In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

Don't give up. I Never Will. A day on the water is better then a day in the house.

Look.....I've been twice in January to my home lake where I know the fish by name.....I caught one each time with only that bite each time..

Joan said "F you pop (she calls me pop), that ain't right throwing that tiny drop shot worm! And put me back it's to dang cold"

Roxie just cried the entire 10 seconds she was in my hands reminding me to much of my last date so I put her back really fast........

I brought my bag and rods in the house and started taking stuff apart to clean.......much more productive
