I am wanting to install either PP or Talons on my P2. I have a place on Cedar Creek on the main lake and it gets a pretty good south wind blowing into it during the summer. We have a retaining wall so there is no shoreline to beach the boat. I want to be able to pull my boat in next to the dock and deploy the anchors to hold it there when I'm not using it. Is either the PP or the Talon better at holding it in place in high waves that won't let it move?

They will both do the job. I know that did not help you out much. I guess it starts with your budget and weather you want to install the tanks for power poles on board your boat or not.

I know Rough Water Mode is built into the Talons. Talons have more driving force and now have user selectable down pressure especially good in soft bottom not to continue to drive spike in mud or silt. Love my Talons easy to install and you can do it your self. Just connect to the battery and install brackets and your good to go.

Power Poles do too. You can use your Smart Phone to adjust the mentioned settings, as well as some other stuff such as deployment speeds for the different switches.

Power poles are easy enough to install. The bracket was the most difficult part, and that was only because of the jack plate bolts.

Something worth mentioning though ... I do only have one. I have noticed if I am standing on that corner of the boat then move to the other side it may have picked up just enough to not hold meaning to re-deploy.

I have had the one deployed in the outlet of a power plant lake and not have to worry about drifting.

They do advertise no noise, but they do make a pretty good splash if they are deployed at more than 3/4 speed or so. Same for coming up.

I have a Talon on a 20i and love it. Just an electrical hookup and a bracket and you are in business. No hydraulic add on's needed.

Probably a stupid question but I do a lot of catfishing in shallow water and was wonfering if you could put 1 ip front and 1 in back for shallow water anchoring. Thanks ryan

Young cat,
This would work better for your application and cost thousands less. I use them on my bass boat and do the intended job great.

Nothing fancy but functional.

You can buy them at West Marine if you have one close.
