I am a chevy man. Been all my life. My truck's AC blower would not work on level 3,4 or 5. Then the defroster/floor actuator quit working. The truck had 235,000 miles on it. It is a beast with the 6.0 liter gas engine and I have a 5th wheel trailer that I pull with it, so I didn't want to get rid of it. I checked out Google and came accross a forum that discussed both of these issue and had a suggestive web site to go to and order the replacement parts. The blower resistor is a very common cause of the blower only working on certian levels. The actuator is also a very common failure in the 2003 thru 2007 GM vehicles. The forum had numerous threads on the repairs, and I read thru them all. I got a quote on a fix for these issues and it was over $1,000 from my local car repair guy. I ordered the parts from the electrical connection online website and fixed it myself last Saturday. Started at 9:00 am and was finished by 1:00pm. Spent two hours looking for a screw that I had lost. Spent $120 on parts, and it all works as good as new.

Feels good when you can do some research and over come a gremlin of some sort! Nothing like doing some "shade tree mechanicing"!

I was on cloud 9 when I turned it all on and it worked! I've been so bitter over this cause apparently GM does have a recall on these, but that recall is only good for 100,000 miles. Gonna do the knock sensors this weekend. Gotta pull the TBI and manifold to get to them. Apparently GM has a real bad issue with the back one getting water in it, such a poor design and thought process.

when u do the knock sensors, get the metal gaskets that are wrapped in rubber from oriellys. the plastic ones that are stock suck (IMO) and the metal ones never fail.they are a little more expensive but well worth it

Good job! My daughter was quoted $1800 to fix the AC on her Saturn. The SNL did it for just over $300.

Do you put them on the block first or just put them on the bottom of the intake? Also when I went to remove the knock sensors the back one was in real bad shape and its all rusted up. Couldn't get it to come out, it kept twisting, gonna try again tonight one more time, then it's time for a couple of screw drivers.

On the knock sensors we always use gm sensors and gm pigtail. Just put silicone on the gasket plug and stick it down in the block. Gm says to build a dam of silicone around the plug but we choose to just put the silicone on the plug and that way we know its sealed
