Might be asking for a bit more than the device / package is designed for, but can you create a "map" or reference file based on the readouts? Is there an export function where you could either play with the data inside of the application or maybe on a desktop? Or just be able to email something and then kind of use that information from there? Mostly I'm curious if having one for a weekend would be enough time to map out something like a large stretch of Turtle Creek and build a useful reference map / guide. I'm really curious to find out how deep that area under Lemon Avenue really might be (Google Map reference: 32.809637, -96.802702). Thanks for sharing!

I can't confirm that the images were fish or turtles. One of the times a saw something on the graph, I caught a bass within a few minutes. Seems like it's working.
The unit has built in WiFi so no data connection is required for it to be used. It generates a WiFi hotspot and all you have to connect to it like you would your home WiFi. It transmits really fast and it rated at a 100MB connection. Multiple people can be connected to it. I haven't tested that yet.
There is no function that allows you to record on fly. You might be able to find some 3rd party app for your phone that might let you do that. I was thinking about that myself but haven't looked too much into it.

I'm sure on a 10 inch tablet it would look even better. My cell is the HTC One, so it's not exactly small, but I can image how much better it would look on a bigger screen.
A couple other items that I forget to mention. I've noticed that when I moved it around a fallen tree and it was over the branches, it had trouble reading what it was. I saw something on the graph but no matter how I adjusted the settings, it still read kinda funny. I'm sure that the depth of the water had something to do with it.
The depth finder will only tell you every 1/2 foot. You will only see feet closest to the nearest .5 You will never see a depth of 4.8 feet or 10.2, it will always be 4.5 or 10.0
I did get it into a little deeper water at one point. I thought I had screen shots but I don't. I was in about 11-12 feet and it worked a little better and I was able to tell what the bottom looked like and reading what was down there. Next time I'll get some screen shots of the deeper water.
The battery lasts about 4 hours in the unit. Its not a really long time, but the beauty of the unit is that it can be charged by any usb port. I happen to have one in my truck, so I can charge it between locations. You just have to make sure that you dry the connections really well.

I will also give another review when I get it out in my raft, which with the warmer months coming up, it won't be too long. I'm thinking this thing tied to the front of my raft is going to be insanely beneficial. I'll be able to get better reading and map things out better. Look for that post when the spawning season starts and the water isn't 50 degrees. I always get a little wet and it's not fun when the water is that cold.

I did not have the show fish on. I didn't think about turning that on. I will do it next time. 2 of the 3 places that I fished the water clarity was really good. It was about 4-5ft down you could see. Sun Creek park was not very clear because they recently dyed the water blue so you could only see down about 1 foot. I will try the fish indicator the next time I go, which could be this weekend but I'm not sure yet. I'll post a few more images once I have them.

Thanks for posting a review to this product. I have been interested in a portable fish finder for months, but i had not yet heard any reports from someone who had experience using the thing. I may have to get one and give it a try after all.

Thanks Fisherman1, that was a great report! I really like the screen shots. That does look like a very impressive little portable depth finder. I was looking for something like that for my yak...now I know what to get!!!
Thanks again.

You're welcome O'Crappie Day and Urban Fisher. I'm going to keep adding to this thread until there's nothing left to say about it and I've covered all bases. I chose this one simply for it's ease of use and how much data I could see. There's a ton of others out there, but this one seemed to be the "winner" when it came to all around use. I do not regret for one second that I purchased this unit. I may be able to sneak out of the house for a few hours this afternoon. You can bet that I already have it ready to go. I'll post another report after some more usage today.... IF i get to go out.

Fisherman1 , I look forward to more updates as you continue to test the features on the unit. You should contact the company and ask for a promoters fee lol . You have me sold !

Already seen one of these in the bargaincave at Cabelas. Hope that's not a bad sign!
