Which features do y'all look for when finding a swim? Does it depend on time of season?

Underwater weed beds, depth changes, snags - basically anywhere food might get trapped. Also, the margin! Almost always have a rod up shallow near the bank.

Basically look for irregularities in the bottom contours. Saddles (V's), Channels, Depressions, cliffs, old creek beds, road beds, bridge pilings, etc....

On Navionics you can drop map pins that show distance in miles.

.05 miles is approximately 80 yards. So you can use the map pins to determine if you can cast out to a feature.
