About when would it be? I'm thinking about spending a weekend at Granger Lake this Spring. I realize that nobody can predict the weather but generally, when do the Crappie get on beds and become active?

I have a Largemouth at home....sometimes she lets me go fishing.

I would go with a sure bet, and wait until the build up a the full moon in March, through early April. Our crappie usually start spawning in mid February here at Cedar Creek, but cold fronts play a major factor that time of year.

So about March 14-16 should be pretty good because of the full moon?

Depending on water temperature, yes, it should be awesome. Ideally what you want is for warm temps during the week of the build up to the full moon.

pick a weekend when the water is 68 degrees, light wind, not post front.....or do what i do and catch them after the spawn... much easier.

We've always waited for the Daffodils to bloom in the area. That's when the crappie and sandbass should be in the creeks. Fish ON!! fish

I'm more of a Bass guy but I like to fill the freezer with some Crappie. Plus I like to take the kids when the fishing is going to be good.
