Greetings. Any advice for finding some catfish on Saturday. Have some family coming to town who want to go catfishing. Have fished Ray Roberts often but never for catfish. Any tips appreciated.
Thanks

Look for shad on your graph. May be deep. Try to anchor in bend of a creek channel. Have recently caught blues as deep as 45'. Just be careful. Lake is still 7.5' low. You might pick up some fish drifting south of Wolfe. Should be nice day. Good luck.

Did pretty good in this wooded cove last week. Wind was blowing into it. Be careful of the trees. Motored around behind some trees, dropped anchor then motored up to a tree, tied off to it with an 8ft rope, and pulled the anchor tight. Kept me facing into the wind with little movement in 35ft of water without banging into the tree all the time. Caught several right below the boat near the bottom. The rest came from out in the little channel that runs into the cove. Careful with the trotlines that are abandoned. Pulled a real nasty one up from 30+ deep that was attached to a big limb which I assume broke off one of the trees at some point. I was using some monster gizzard shad I netted in Whiterock Creek the week before and froze. Just the fillets with skin still attached for integrity on the hook. They were hitting the filets more than the hookers, steaks or heads. All blues with one very large channel.

Found tons of bait in 40 feet of water. Fished all day. Nothing. Using chicken marinated in dead red. Couldn't reach the shad with my cast net.
