Sorry haven't fished for gills in awhile. Winter I Spend the free times searching for nice trout on the guadalupe. Today was slow but managed a solid 18" male before I had to take off. This boy was in spawn mode milting all over when landed.
Urban if you're still active on here we need to get out slingin bugs again soon! Send me a pm if you get this I think you have my old number. Banker we still need to set up a trip sometime.

Laker it was in the trophy zone at the devils playground. Caught him on a sz12 hares ear nymph on the fly rod.

Good job catching a very nice fish. Fly fishing the Guadalupe River. As the saying goes around here. "It don't get any better than that".

these fish up this way have sum bux in them that are like milk fountains as well
and they aint all that big ....but they bear that noticeably different coloration thing
plus the body build is so much shorter and stockier .....
with a touch of kipe on them beaks as well

Hey jonesy! Long time no see! Glad to see your still out there throwing that fly rod. I must admit, I haven't been fishing much lately. I guess life and work has kept me busy. But I do need to hit the water again. Especially looking at that trout. That's a nice one!

But one fishing related thing that has kept me busy, a boat building work shop we set up. You have seen those crazy boats I build, now we have a whole class of them being built. It's been a ton of fun and hopefully the maiden voyage for the first class should be soon. Our shop is on the far south west side of town. You are more than welcome to come check it out if you want too.

I'll get into my fishing routine again soon. I would love to hook up again...so you can show me how to get into those big trout!

There are a lot bigger fish in the zones. Got my PB trout at Rio two years ago.


Alex "First Class Tackle" has posted some nice trout that he has caught at the devils playground.

I have heard that the Devil Playground is a good place to go for trophy trout. I also have heard White Water is good! The next time I go I am going to fish one or the other.

Laker just so you know it's $8 to fish at l&l. You can drive down and fish the pools and shallow riffles at playground or park at the office and wade up to some holes and rapids. I caught that one in less than 12" of fast water. They blend in very well and even though you don't see them unless they're spooked or actively feeding there's usually 1-3 fish in every little rut or pool.
