We are having a great winter for Speckled Trout fishing on Galveston Bay. My baits of choice are corkys while fishing 1-5ft of water and soft plastics rigged on a 1/8 to 1/4 ounce jig head when fishing deeper water from 6-12ft. Shell reefs are holding fish around deep channels as well as shallow mud flats. Fish in the 4-7 pound class are common most days, and I expect this to stay constant throughout the winter barring a major flood.
