I fished the SPI Jetty a couple days ago and noticed the piled up huge rocks all along the channel side on the south Jetty at Boca Chica.
Can anyone tell me what's the plan over there??!

Those boulders are the ones that they are putting on either jetties. The rehab project for both jetties was scheduled to be completed by October 2014.

So, there is gonna be an upgrade to both Jetties? That would be nice! Hope they make them higher so we can fish even when there's some big waves. As it is now, we can't go out very far at all if the surf is mean.

Apparently construction has been planned for quite a while. They were supposed to be done soon. I need to find
out before I come down there Feb 17-20th and find the jetties closed off or something.

Its gonna be a while we had a pretty rough summer with waves and they lost alot of work time.

I've heard of the jetty restoration from the hurricane a while back, but also heard this summer that on the South side they are building it up as a barrier to the Space X pad.. might just be a rumor.
