Looking to fish Toledo Bend Lake on the Texas side more this year from the bank. I drove around most of the Texas side scouting public places I could find but did not see much public access to the lake or find water deeper than 2 foot.

Interested in if anybody knows of any real public access or would be willing to give permission for private land on the lake front to tent camp and fish for a few days/nights at time. My style of fishing is very unobtrusive and is a carry it all in, take it all out + more trash type of impact.

Thanks for your comments/PMs.

You might be able to find some access points near productive areas using fishassist.com

Check out Indian Mound Park on the Texas Side. There is Camping and water access but some of the bank might be "tough" to try and fish since it is not cleared out. It is a very pretty Park.

Thank you guys for your suggestions. I went to indian mounds last trip and I think it could be fish able during the day, but I'm hoping to fish/camp overnight for two or three nights if possible.

One of the biggest issues I saw was extremely shallow water until 100 yards ore more from the bank in many of the public places. To be fair, I did not scout many of the private campgrounds as the price kept me away last trip.

There is some fairly deep water on the Back side of the Indian Mound park by the small ramp. There are some deep creeks by some of the camping areas. Not many people go to the back side since they all tend to use the big boat ramp on the main lake side.

Thanks for the heads up. That was the best area that I saw as far as fishing. You'd have to fish during the day though because there's no camping close by to that ramp.

Also, I looked at Buffalo Loop while I was there but there's a 6 foot cliff to climb to get down to the water. Again, not real conducive to fishing all night.
