What is your favorite spinning reel, brand, model and size for drop shotting? I was just curious to see what comes up the most.

I'll bite...

Quantum or Shimano
25 on a light rod
30 on a medium light rod

Currently running Quantum Smoke 25. It is as bad a$$ as it looks.

Shimano Sahara 2500 on a Shimano Compre medium rod.

In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

I have noticed my old shimano sedona did not twist my line as much as my current diawa lexa. I believe I am selling all my diawa stuff and going back to shimano shortly. Just a personal preference.

Any of the 40 size Pfluegers. Really smooth and durable, plus priced right. Most of our water is so clear, spinning tackle is a must a good part of the year. One thing I've learned, the wider the spool, the better it will handle your line. Especially fluoro.

I have heard only good about Pflueger spinning tackle. For the money I like the Bass Pro Shops Extreme reel. It's far from top of the line, but for what I do it works. My extremes have been durable although I probably don't finess fish as much as some.

my johnny Morris signature series spinning reel has been pretty good to me! smack some nano on it and it will cast a mile! you do have to put a fluoro leader on it but i don't mind.

I figured the Shimano Stradic 2500Ci4 would be used quite a bit.

I use a Abu Garcia Orra SX and I don't have a single complaint. It comes with a braid spool and works great with 20# suffix 832 with a swivel and a flouo leader.
