Finally looking at getting side imaging. Was planning on getting the 998 but I see they have stopped making it and now making the 999ci. Was curious if it is as good?
Thanks

You can probably still get the 998 for a smokin deal from sponsors like shut up and fish and BBG marine etc.

Thanks Seems like soon as I get something, they come out w/ something new! I probably don't get the most out of my electronics right now anyway, especially not SI. I stay on maps and 2D most of the time. Makes more sense to me

True, but really how often do you find yourself thinking "man I wish this was a little faster, I'd be willing to spend 1500 bucks to just switch from SI to mapping just .005 seconds faster.....
I've got a 998 on the console and a 898 HD on the bow, I have no intention of trading up because I really don't think it's much of a trade up.
Now from the regular to the HD units (backlit) it was nice because I can't see my 998 well when I have sunglasses on but the 898 is clear as a bell. Other than that, the only way I'll be changing is either when I sell this boat or if I come across a serious deal on an 1198.

Go here, http://www.shut-up-and-fish.com and contact David, he can answer all your questions, and he is a great guy to deal with. He may even have some of the units you want. Got mine from him, a 998c HD SI Combo on the dash and a 958 HD DI Combo on TM, I would like to upgrade but my CFO has put a hold on raising my debt limit.
