I just bought my first fishfinder second hand and took it on the water the other day. When I insulted it I noticed there so scratches on the transducer, at the time I just thought they where cosmetic and shouldn't interfere with the performance of the FF. When I was out in the middle of the pond, it seemed to be showing the actuate depth but there was a lot of surface clutter that extended all the way down the bottom. On the pictures of FF I've seen online the surface clutter is only limited to the top of the screen and below that only showed signs of structure and fish. I would have snapped pictures of the screen but it was unbelievable windy and my phone was in my truck.


What are y'alls thoughts on my situation?

You will get a lot of clutter when it is windy. What unit do you have and how is the transducer mounted?

Its a Lowrence. I mounted it on the seat of my kayak with pvc.

Is that the ducer of the head unit mounted that way?
