I fish the high school BASS tourney and have a tournament coming up on the 11th at cedar creek. I was wondering if the lake has been slow like most of my local lakes or if you've been catching them what technique has been working best?

Well...no responses so I'll take a shot. I used to do pretty well in CC tournaments back in the day. It's always been a boatdock-pitcher's lake. There's probably not a day of the year that you can't do well on docks, if you figure out the pattern and fish the right ones. Pick the best looking docks in a variety of areas (don't just fish a row of them) and find out what works...then find other docks that match it. CC lends itself to that pretty good. If dock pitchin isn't your thing....the riprap at the dam works good from time to time fishing parallel and close. Good luck.

Gotta agree with bruce on this one .. pitching and flip and pitch and flip some more..was out there on new years day and the bite just wasnt on ..caught a few dinks on some brush a crappie fisherman put around his dock in a cove..the water temp was around 45 ..had no luck fishing the dam but always worth a shot .. try a jig or a beaver on a t-rig..good luck

Isnt the lake low? there arent very many docks in the water?? check out points and anything with rocks close by that has some kind of depth change, the docks are very good if there is some water near them. also look for deep water creek bends and drop shot or shakey head them. good luck

The lake is a little bit low but not nearly as low as it was but you are right it could use a little more water..just sucks bc tarrant county.water district is putting in another pipeline.

Lake isn't really low anymore plenty of docks in water. IMO it's gonna make fishing harder for anglers with little knowledge of lake almost every creek and main lake area has docks with water.

Good points. A newcomer might do well to look at Google Earth and a topo map, pick one of the main Eastside creeks, and pick out the docks that the channels swing closest to. Just a thought....
