Just moved down here from Indiana. Sheldon looks close. Conroe Livingston and big sam and falcon are on my short list, any good spots closer?

Fayette, Raven, and Gibbons Creek are all good ones. Make sure you hit the salt while your down there.

The salt makes me nervous. I feel overwhelmed enough trying to figure out these lakes. Where is a good spot to go for red fish?

East Matagorda or Galveston bay should produce. Get on TKF and see where people are catching them at!

Tommy,

Galveston bay is definitely good for reds. If you're willing to drive (and if you're talking about Falcon, you are), don't forget lake Texana in Edna, I lived in Victoria for a while (90 minutes south on 59 from Houston), and I found Texana was wonderful for healthy South Texas bass. The only thing about Texanai s you have to accept that you'll see alligators. They won't mess with you, but they are definitely present.

Nissley's recommendation for a natural high: kayak fishing

I don't know anything about it closing down. I've known for a while they have only been open certain days. I used to fish there when I lived in College Station, I caught some great bass, catfish, and crappie there. It would be a shame if it closed down.

Yea, ill drive anywhere. I'm here with my wife, she is doing a travel nursing assignment . She asked me last January if I wanted to quit my job and travel. I said as long as I can buy a hobie pro angler, and we can go to Texas. Spent January-June in Dallas. Amazing. Went to Denver for the summer, now I'm back, Houston this time. No job, wife is making bank, all I have to do is fish.

You might also want to look into Houston County and Naconiche though I have not fished them I hear they are good lakes.
