Winter jig fishing for big striped bass one of my passions in life. i just love casting jigs and slow working the baits. Fish hits like a log and the average size is best of the whole year. If you don't like big fat mama's out prowling structure waiting to nail your bait fishing not in your blood  Been using bucktails and flukes on points and pounding out some nice fish. Let the wind dictate what weight to throw but 1/2 oz if you can to allow slow er retrieves without hanging up. Some my other guides been ds's but i prefer structure fishing. i sure enjoy putting people on their new personal best. Congrats to father and son mike and chad shaffer of denison tx   got larry murphey of spearman tx on this hawg...cp&r but 13-15lbs  rick herring of ft worth got in on it 16.9...  tedford boys from dallas/chicago had a heck of an outing. 10th year of coming out with me and still nailing some nice fish.     and annual lyscheski trip allen tx 3 generatios very cool    fishing is very good for water temps 42-44 which is what we are seeing. hope to see this action continue to sizzle and no more hard freezes.
