You cannot use with US2 because it's 2D only unless you can change the Transducer select to Dual Beam Transducer. I know on larger units you can just not sure on 788ci HD DI. If you can't you could damage the transmitter in unit if it's trying to transmit DI with no crystal to power.

Anyone tried the new 899-1199 yet? Just wondering if they are as good an upgrade as what they are claiming compared to 1198?

Having buyers remorse, bought me a 561 for my trolling motor and starting to think I should have gone ahead and bought the 581 with the down imaging/GPS.
it was $150 more but I all ready have GPS on the boat.
Should I have gone with what I could afford or Extra stuff I all ready got?

Hate to say it guys but think I am going with lowrance for my new units just can't see spending 3300 on the new bird frown will still run a 1198 up front for the 360 but after seeing what [censored] the bird is giving me on both of my 1197 after the update on 2d and seeing that there will be lack of support on the 11 in the next few years I must say good by.

Has anyone here used the link (with iPilot Minn Kota) feature with the Hummingbird Onix?

I have been strictly a Lowrance guy up until now..... Have I-Pilot and thought the link features might switch me to Hummingbird.

Stopped by BPS Grapevine tonight and got terrible reviews on the Onix.
Some comments:
1. Not understood - no training
2. Complicated - Lowrance is much easier
3. Didn't understand the fish pattern feature of Onix..... Wondering if a simple iPhone app could do the same thing.

Comments here???? Need to buy and want some ammo for swinging to Hummingbird.

Thanks!

New 959DI. Tried to mark a way point, no icon appeared.
Tried to mark several other way points at other locations, said 001 already exist at this location.

Do you have Nav chip installed? (None installed currently)

Did the self test everything is on and test ok.

iPilot Link works with the ONIX too.

The New ONIX is just beginning to ship and reps are out try to train locations as fast as they can and I'll be doing many videos because the ONIX offers several new ways to adjust your unit. It's more than just a touch screen it offers multi gesture control much like cell phones that you can pinch, double tap, two finger double tap, swipe but you can also do everything with the Joystick, Flywheel and touch buttons too. I found some things easier to adjust with the joystick and flywheel like 2D sensitivity just turn the button and it instantly adjusts sensitivity.

SmartStrike is an additional accessory like LakeMaster Contour Elite but built on the map card that allows you to pattern matach or structure match while on the water. Here is a short clip on Contour Elite and will be similar to Smart Strike Mapping Cards with LakeMaster Mapping Data

Try restoring defaults that has helped sometimes. You do not need SD Card to mark waypoints they are saved in the units internal memory. IF that does not help call HB Customer Service 800-633-1468

This was my experience as well. Went to the BPS here and it was pretty much the same experience. Unit was very slow in "touchscreen" mode. It seems the defense strategy is "We'll, it works better with buttons than touch in some modes." Hope this changes. I was really hoping for better.

Got a buddy that just installed a 798. He said the transducer is causing a horrible rooster tail. The top of the transducer is directly level with the bottom of the boat and there are no ribs or anything under the boat directly in front of it to cause turbulence. Any idea what went wrong and causing it to rooster tail like it is?

Have him relocate the transducer up just a bit. That should solve the problem.
