New to the forum and was wondering what kind of success you've had on the trinity river? I try to fish it a couple of times a month and usually use a Carolina style rig with fresh shad. Most of my success has come when the river is up and water is moving faster than normal.. Any pointers on what kind of areas to look for or tips or techniques would be greatly appreciated!!

You know more than I do. Maybe you can tell me where a good spot is. I live around I 20 and Hemphill. So Trinity Park is an easy drive.

The trinity has a bad rep because of its "bad" water quality, but I've fished it my entire life along with numerous family members & friends & throughout the years it's produce some nice fish!! From blues channels to nice flatheads.....the best advice I could offer is to walk the many "trinity trails" it has and just scout the river, & wen u see a spot you like fish it. For blues I recommend fresh shad and cut perch, flatheads big live perch! I really don't target channels since I'm always after the big boys. PM me & I could point you to a few good spots & if your willing maybe we could head out together sometime, you can never have to many fishing buddies

I just recently started scouting the trinity myself, but it seems those gars are the ones usually biting. I'm on the Dallas side so don't know if that really makes a difference. If y'all get out on this side or know good place to start, let me know. I can get the bait, both shad and perch....
I wanna FISH!

there is a spot off of 45 east of Hutchins. Beltline (1382) crosses over the trinity. it has produced some good fish in its day. Im lookin to shoot some pigs out there, as it is INFESTED with them. Can anyone help me out on the subject of who owns this piece of land?
