Waterways froze up early this year, was stuck at work without fishing for 4 weeks. Finally made it out for a couple outings on ice, this is how I spend my fishing time when carp are nearly impossible to catch.








Can't wait to come back to Texas to chase some open water carp, have a few days trip to Dallas planned for mid February.

That is a good looking perch. I have heard that they are great eating.

The top one actual perch are the best eating fish

Top one is a yellow perch. Very nice either pan fried or baked in butter lemon sauce. Just a mess to clean, as most are under 12 inches, not worth keeping anything under 8/9 inches. However, probably the most abundant an easiest fish to catch under ice around here. Caught over 100 perch in about 5 hours on that outing.

Montreal, Quebec. The bass and panfish were caught west of the city, the trout in the Laurentian mountains about 2 hours North.
