I've been using a 12 volt Motorguide, but it has finally quit on me. I'm debating on whether to go to a 24 volt system. I have it prewired with two positive connections and one negative connection. I tried running two batteries in sequence (due to lack of power when fishing hard) but this didn't help. I hooked up each positive connection to a separate terminal, while connecting the negative to one battery and birding it to the other battery.
So what I need to know is this: What is the proper setup for a 24 volt system?

I would go to the TM manufacturer website and DL the installation manual for whatever you are considering. There will be a diagram in the install instructions showing how the motor is wired.
