Took my son out for a day of fun ( he couldnt wait to try out the new tackle he recieved for Christmas) Little slow for us today. No big numbers but good quality. Usually catch and release but freezer was looking bare except for the deer and hog meat. Key today was a bublegum fluke on a 1/2 ounce jig head. 27' of water, fish were 15' to the bottom. Didnt have much time to try any other patterns so we just went with what worked. Only caught 4 unders so 8 fish went to the freezer. Threw some good overs back. Atleast 3 of em went double digit. Couple pics for all to enjoy .

Nice! Similar to our results today and my 10 yr old got one about 12 lbs as well. Slow overall and all fish were over except one. We caught them all in Big Mineral arm in 24-30'

I dont know why I didnt go into big min, but still learning the lake, icould only muster one over in buncombe

Sounds and looks like you had a great day. A day on the water with your son is so beneficial for both of you but down the road he will affectionately remember things he has learned being with you. I am 73 and still fondly think of times on the water and in the woods with my dad.Good Job!! Thanks for the report and pics.
