Do you like Ford or Chevy???
Same thing here Navionics or Lake Master they both have their good points. There "might" be some compatibility issues with the Lake Master with the GEN 2 with the new software update. So the question might not even be that important if you are stuck with just the Navionics.

I upgraded to the navionics platinum in my bird 998 and like it a lot, plenty of great features. if you go with one get the platinum and I doubt you will regret it.
