Yes, white crappie Ketch. curious minds like me thought I would look at some lake records if I read everything right there is no white crappie record for that lake ? the fish that was close to yours in weight was a black crappie .... of course someone like me applauds a person that tries to perpetuate such a grand fish two of my forum friends donated monsters like that alive to the Athens fish hatchery and I myself released a very large fish in the spirit of lets see a bigger crappie as well so either way ...CONGRATS AGAIN .... but I thought I might offer up the info I found

Thanks Ketchn! I didn't pay attention to the record just being a black crappie! I'm going to see what I can do!

Well it looks good. But why didn't you mount the real fish. And I do understand catch and release and support it. But sorry it's a fake. Whatever, the fish that was caught was real. Why kill a fish to put it on a wall when you can get a replica that looks great instead? I've never understood this attitude on the forum. It's conservation to the day everyone dies, don't keep big fish, let em breed. Unless you want it on the wall. Replicas are great and that fish will reproduce for years to come. Good looking fish BTW

I agree Rex. Don't know why people are not informed on how they do taxidermy for fish. You make a mold of the original fish and then make the cast which is painted to look identical to original. That's it. No smell. No parts of the fish to decompose or rot. Period. Again, Nice mount!!!

Good looking fish BTW IF it was me, I would have had a replica done and made some crappie tacos out of the real one! Nice fish, one to always remember with a mount....real or replica, doesn't matter to me....
