Never been before. Gonna try and head out there Sunday with a buddy of mine. Would rather have a heads up on anything potentially damaging to a lowrr unit and / or a hull. Any tips on pulling the monsters in would be nice too. Really wanting info on running the lake mostly though.

Simple answer is don't. At least until you get familiar with the lake. Lake is high and will be tons of stumps under water and lots of floaters that move around between the ramp and dam. Also big hump past the cooling towers on the right.

My advise is to not try and run Welsh if you have never been there. For a new guy if you want to, you can run from power lines to dam with ease but for someone to try and tell you how to run up North in the creek is almost impossible. Go get up in the ditches up North where they come to a Y. ZOOM ol Monster worms in Plum have been the ticket.

Heath is right. Stump central. They are a few floaters out there too- at least there were two weeks ago. Put the trolling motor down and get to it.
