This is the first time I'm going to lake conroe so I could use some help. What are the largemouth biting on right now and what techniques are y'all using. Is it anything like Sam rayburn because I am used to fishing there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's nothing like Rayburn. Docks, docks and more docks! The south end is wide open, and north of the 1097 bridge can get dicey with standing timber.

As far as a pattern, I will tell you what the TTBC pro I was with told me, you have to move alot until you find em. There is no grass and if you can find offshore structure fish it.

It ain't Rayburn BUT, this is a PRIME time of the year to fish Conroe, IMHO. I threw Jerkbaits in 8 to 15 FOW, fishing points all last weekend and caught 33 in 2 days. 6 or 7 hours of total fishing time. All Bass between 1 to 4 lbs. Probably missed over 5 or so.

Whatever you use at Big Sam. I usually let the water color dictate what I throw. Don't let all the negative rep that Conroe gets overwhelm you. It's a great fishery.
