How is the fishing down there? Going in a week, any fish in the lighthouse lakes area or have moved to deeper waters?

Hey there. We fished on kayaks around Ransom Island saturday and then Pita Island in Flour Bluff on sunday. Sunday we were skunked using top waters and swim baits. Saturday 2 of us caught 2 15" trout on DOA shrimp and some type of swim bait. It was tough fishing. Lots of paddling. We fought a 20mph+ NW winds. We covered a lot of water on yak and wading the shallows fishing no more than 5ft deep. Hope this helps.

fished brown and root area Sunday, skunked. tide was super high. front came through Sunday at noon, water fell probably a foot through Monday. now tide is very low. went out Tuesday (boat) found the drum and reds, got a 3 person limit of each. fishing is day-today, watch the tides and the wind direction...good luck
