Saw the post about the new Ardent Reels. I looked to see if BPS carried them. While looking I noticed the new browning reels. Guys these don't look like the same old thing. Their highest end reel which cost 120 is only 6oz. I have been using BPS reels. (BPS owns Browning). You can't beat them for the price.

Just to clarify I have only use BPS reels never tried Browning. I just figured they were about the same since BPS owns Browning. I guess I will really check into it before I take a chance on one.

I use the browning midas 10bb reels. They have a 17lb drag and Dual Braking - both centrifugal and magnetic cast control is external. The only change I make is putting abec 7 ceramics in the spool bearings, they will outcast my partners reels significantly. I use em for everything - topwater to humps 65' deep.
They work for me.....

I've had three of the citori baitcasters, had to send one back soon after I got it. It locked up and quit reeling , that model was a closeout so the sent me the money back. I still have another one just like it and one I got off eBay and they are my two best reels, was considering getting the citori in a cranking model this yr since they are on sale but I really don't need another reel...

I picked up some kind of Browning at BPS not knowing what it was and it was a slick reel. I was suprised when I noticed it was a browning. My guess the same or near as a carbonlite or Johnny M.

Thanks, Billy

I just got the Midas Black at BPS this afternoon. The close out model was gone. I'm not joking it's the smoothest reel I have ever gotten out of the box. We will se how things go.
