I'm coming up on my one year anniversary of yak fishing and I have to say It's been a great year. I absolutely love it. Lately I've been obsessing on new waters and kinda making up my bucket list. This spring I'm dead set on hitting the Brazos below PK. The Devil's River is my number one spot but I think that may have to wait until I'm done with my current project at work (2015). I've also added Fork to my list, but word on the street is there's gators and heavy traffic there (duh) so I'm kinda hesitant on that one. Lastly, one lake I never hear you guys talk about is Falcon. In a place where there should be no stupid questions, I feel like this is a stupid question. Why aren't y'all fishing falcon in your yaks? Also I'd like to know, what are y'all's bucket list locations/new years resolutions?

I'm not fishing Falcon because its a long way down there and from a kayak I don't think the reward outweighs the risk. As far as Fork and the gators don't worry about them.

I've never fished Falcon when the wind wasn't blowing harder than what I'd like for a kayak. I'd love to take my yak there if I could find an area up lake to put in.

Fished Falcon one time, its awesome! Like no other place I've ever been. Just too far from where I am to make a habit of it. I think it was 38 feet low when I was there. Two days from boat, two from kayak, windy but you can find spots to fish out of the wind.

I climbed up on top to breathe. It was 106 degrees and found the lure below in tree that must have been lost when lake at higher level.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

I'm ending my rookie season and my bucket list is to just keep doing what I've been doing,
Take advantage of a beautiful stretch of water 2 blocks from the house that I spent years driving 150 miles away from to fish. It's really changed my life to be able to have so much fun so close to home with so little investment of time or money.

Thanks for the responses. I almost forgot to add my Colorado River trip to my list. Sometime this spring I want to Float from Smithville to La Grange. I've done a lot of fishing at Plum on the Colorado and I usually do pretty well. I really think its an underrated river.

You've got a good list going! Definitely hit Fork, lots of areas perfect for a yak that bass boats have a hard time getting into. No worries on the gators, very few have seen one, I haven't nor anyone in the clubs I've fished. They are there though. I've fished falcon a few times in a bass boat & can't wait to take the yak, very safe, but I still wouldn't go to the far back of the creeks on the Mexico side. Need to get a small group of yaks to go this spring. On my list is trip to the coastal bays for Redfish.

Really cut down on the Grizzly this year. Maybe 1 can every three weeks. Next year no more.
