Whomever said they could wash it off must have had an oil coat applied before spraying on. I took a rag with soap and water to it this morning and nothing. It did tear my wash cloth. I think the bedliner will be good to go. Sure, I will have to respray it somewhere down the road but for cheap protection for a while, I think it will work. Going to do some dragging tonight while putting it back on the jeep. I would usually never drag my yak but I'm curious if it will protect it.
cheap DIY that sounds to be a winner! Might have to redo mine

Don't waste your time on the bedliner. I accidentally dropped the yak off the car and immediately noticed a chunk missing. I then proceeded to drag the yak about 20ft to the water and while it was all rock, not gravel, I found quite a few scratches through the bedliner. I had roughly three thick coats on and will not be coating again. I almost wish it would just wash off but the stuff is stuck on. Bedliner is great on cars, trucks and jeeps but not so great on the bottom of our yaks I'll post photos later

No big deal! I have tons of bedliner and it was an easy test. It was worth the try. My jeep floors have held up for years but I'm not dragging it over lots of rocks or throwing it at the ground. I literally dropped the yak on its rear today. I tripped on a rock.... Hopefully no one else waste the time or money to bedline. I might buy one of those guards and see how that holds

I've got 2 big rolls of Tremco Paraseal seam tape that works great as a keel guard. This stuff is 20 mils thick, sticks to anything and self seals if it gets damaged. I'll cut pieces of it for free if anybody wants some. Pm me and we'll set something up. It's about 4" wide and black.
This is a very tall order. We need the best. Get me MacGruber.

Have Y'all looked into a Slick Bottom? they had it installed on all our air boats when I worked in Fl. Don't know what brand they used, but we used to run them on dry ground, even gravel roads and they held up well.
A guy at work put one on his flats boat and it protected it from shell beds as long as I can remember.
Don't know if it will work with plastic or not, might have to check with the manufactured. There are home application kits.

I sent an email to gatorglide and they said several people have used their product on their canoes with great success. It is also used on airboats and many other boats that are exposed to harsh, abrasive materials and he said it holds up very well in those applications. May have to buy some and check it out. And it comes in several different colors too. Seems pretty tough..... http://www.gatorglide.com/http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYrC5895T0Y&feature=youtu.behttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gw5qZ1v6lAw&feature=youtube_gdataHave Y'all looked into a Slick Bottom? they had it installed on all our air boats when I worked in Fl. Interesting post. Maybe someone needs to contact Hook1 and suggest their next future product line: kayak keel guards.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us, PiePuncher. Out of curiosity, what's the origen of your TFF handle. I've heard of a cow puncher, but not a pie puncher. I'm a pie eater myself.

Some where on the net I saw an article bout a guy that use some stainless water bottles cut to fit and glued it on 3M 5200 adhesive He also used poly traps cut to strips, worked in with a heat gun and putty knife, said it made a harder surface
