It's been dink fest for the most part. Every once in while we will limit. But some days it's 1-5 keepers, some days but not often, we catch over 15 - 30 keepers. Not worth my time at WRC. Drought is killing me. Might be guiding blue cats next winter if this keeps up. Trout in Beavers Bend have been keeping me busy in the meantime. So there is a quick update of the creek. To many dinks and to many shad in the water. On a great note. Game Warden Martin handed out an unbelievable amount of tickets at White Rock Creek two nights ago. 165 violations. Some people got multiple violations per citation. 146 crappie that were under sized with 3 being legal out of all the people cited. One guy had "50" crappie and he was the only one with three legal crappie. The rest were an average of 5-8 inches. Martin gave this gentleman, 50 tickets. Helps when he lives right around be corner from the creek.

Thats great to hear but should have took his equipment as well. Up north where i grew up there is no limit or size limit on crappie and cause of this its rare to catch a 10 inch crappie where i fished but the rivers there was huge crappie in them if you could find the fish. When they are kept at a small size they never get big enough to even spawn the first time and make more. So numbers go down and really how much meat do you get off a 5-8 inch crappie? Is it really worth the chance of the ticket? I hate seeing people under size crappie and over there limit and will report it every time i see it. Sorry rant over

He usually takes the gear. If bigger things like major poaching with nets and spot lighting, they take the cars too.

He brought the fish to Johnathan again. Lol he had to clean them all at 5 am. He said the five to six inchers was less than a table spoon of meat. If that.

That is going to be one expensive fishing outing. Glad the Game Warden was at the right place at right time.

Thanks for the report Carey. This last month I fished the deep water and found 45 deg water and not to many balls of shad and in 3 trips I only got 1 crappie ( 12 incher ) witch told me they were up the creek and after dealing with all those "bank holes" aka "a" holes that LIVE at the deep hole just past the Lauther bridge I knew I would have to wait till the water warms above 54 deg before they move back out deeper. Ken Gaby gave some real good info at a CAT meeting once about Earth's ground temp and the surounding water temp in a real cold winter. Paul O'bier has also told us about when and why they run up the creeks. so I wait.....to be honest and not to suport the "cheaters" but WRL does not get enough crappie cought out of it and needs more "LEGAL" crappie cought and taken home and eaten.. so when there back to normal ya'll come on out to WRL and catch ya some big ones!!!! YES, there good to eat out of WRL...

Ya white rock is so polluted, everybody dies when they eat a crappie. Happens all the time. The crappie sit on the surface, sipping the oil and chewing on the plastic bags. What's stupider? Ur statement or mine?

LOL Just about every lake, river or creek has pollution in it but some are worse then others. Up north fishing ponds right next to farm fields where they used all kinds of chemicals on the corn and soybeans every year plus the rivers with farm fields right next to them it all gets washed into the water but everyone still eats the fish out of them and still living. Theres more chemicals in the PACKAGED food now a days then most fish out of the lakes and creeks.

There's times that the shad are so thick that you won't catch any crappie because nothing wants your bait. Like right now!!! Glad the game warden stuck it to them. Hopefully more visits will be made. It's really funny to see these guys run off into the woods!!!
