Unless you are very good at bedfishing, you might consider a different lake than Fork. I have a few special tricks that will work very well on bedfish. Just ask Lake Fork guide Andrew Grills. We can catch them when nobody else can. Done it over and over again. Enough on that. The thing is Fork gets beat up annually on the sight fishing and the fish have gotten smarter and smarter and harder to catch off of beds. I would recommend a lake that doesn't get quite as much pressure on bedfishing. Unless you are very good. Because even someone trying to teach you special techniques it can be frustrating those first times until you get it down. I have a Word document if you will PM me on some bedfishing 101 that has worked for us many times over. I am not trying to brag. But, we feel it is one of our very strong suits. I will wait on people to leave a bedfish they can't catch and many times will have it caught in 5-10 minutes or less. It is best first hand to see, but it has helped a few people. It is techniques I have never heard anyone talk about in the fishing world. Making uncatchable fish bite.

Fork is actually one of the easiest lakes to sight fish. We go every spring and the sheer number of quality fish makes it a lot easier than other lakes. Try to go during the week in late march to mid April.
