I am terrible at deep water fishing, 30 feet for me. That is one of my goals for next year, catch more fish deep.

On lake Fork 40+ near bottom, with a dropshot finese worm on a Feb 2nd.I have to give Ray Vereen credit that day because I can ussally catch bass on my crappie rigs that deep however not that day.So after getting spanked by a dropshot I finally picked one up and began to put a few bass in the boat.I believe between the two of us there were over 50 bass boated that day.

Caught spots on McGee Creek in OK at about 40'. Sounds shallow compared to a lot on here but that's my deepest.

Fishing over 40' deep i only use to techniques dropshot or spoons and slabs using heavy spoons or slabs they go quick to the bottom then you just rip them up or jig them . Dropshot is more boring takes alot longer im constantly looking at my graph its kinda cool though it can be like playing a video game watching them come take your bait.

I graphed 3 fish with my old Hummingbird paper graph in the early 80's at Flacon by the dam. They were hanging on a ledge at 54 ft that dropped to 76ft. I caught all three on a 1 oz jig, all three were 4 to 6 pounds. I had the paper from the graph for a long time but can't remember what happened to it.

Never had caught a fish that deep before and never have since. Caught quite a few in the 20 to 25 foot range.
