Christening your new vessel with Champagne for the lake or ocean Gods may not be on the top of a kayakers list.
I think as fisherman we all have some superstitions or Mojo. Not to long ago I was talking to a younger fellow about buying some type of kayak or kayak accessory. When he asked what all it comes with, I covered the list and I brought up that it comes with some pretty good Mojo too.
The fellow asked how much extra is the Mojo? I told him priceless. It took a minute to click in his head what the heck Mojo was but when it did the fellow said "I'll take it just for the Mojo!"

Personally, before I shove off, I pray to the good Lord to say thank you and then I pat my little Buzz Lightyear action figure on the head LOL! I even had a brownie in the package that came along on way many trips that was too scary to eat after a while.
Silly to some, but serious to most. Good or bad, funny or ugly lets hear or see some of y'all's, what is your superstitions or Mojo?

No yak superstitions yet (since I don't own one yet), but when I was in a PB we wouldn't get the net out of the box until the first fish was on.

Funny you mention this because both my kayak and my Plano bump board are nice and nasty. Dont plan on washing them anytime soon either! lol

I always ask for some help from above on returning safely. Other than that, I'm game for whatever mother nature can throw at me.

Refuse to ever store fish below deck. Smelled the inside of someone's kayak that stored fish there all the time. It only takes once to remove the new kayak smell.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

I usually just start out by giving thanks for the day and asking for him to watch over me (or us) while on the water. I used to have a favorite fishing hat that I had to wear but it's at the bottom of RR's as of about a month ago.

+1 for me, but I think Jerry can manage without him!

I was on Cooper the first time Lee took a GoPro and about got skunked. He didn't bring it back for a couple of trips!!!

We have the new gear curse. Seems every time any of us get new gear we get a tough day to follow. I also believe if you dont fish the bad days then you wont catch great ones on the good days.

Y'all keep them coming.
I agree with new gear and tough days after LOL! New fish finders are the worst, I guess I'm paying too much attention to it and pushing buttons loco_2
