ran perfectly for about 10 minutes Sunday, then it went to continuous run and 100% wide open it went left and then right and almost ejected me from the boat. The only way I could get it to stop was to unplug it. Motorguide Tour Edition 109 thrust.
Any ideas of what causes this? I thought it might be the continuous switch so I disconnected it completely and it still ran at full throttle. hhhHHHELP!

Did you accidently move the switch on the front of the pedal to Constant On?

tried every position on it and still ran wide open. took the switch off the foot pedal wire disconnected with same results, thought with wires disconnected it would kill the tm, but it didn't

It is probably the lower unit module. It happened to me. I took it to a motorguide shop and they ended up replacing the whole lower unit under warranty.

That sounds like a short in the motor itself.

Depends on if it's a Digital or the older analog. If Digital, the module is bad. If analog, a bad board/mosfet and will need the digital upgrade. If it has the built in transducer, could have water intrusion causing the module to go bad. If I can help, give me call.
