Guys, I've always wanted to go sight fishing for bedding bass but every spring it never seems to work out for me. And I am by no means an expert, nor do I have a fancy power pole at my disposal. I know there isn't any guarantee on this technique until a couple days in advance but does anyone recommend a lake/guide that might be able to give me a chance? I live in fort worth but I will be getting a whole week off in march and I'm willing to pretty much go anywhere in Texas. I'm determined to do my best to catch some bedding fish! Help me out!

For bedding fish I would look at Amistad. Everything has to be perfect at Falcon to make that happen

Richie White, Lake Fork. Learned how to sight fish from him last Spring. We caught some on beds in March. He is THE man when it comes to sight fishing. He also has a sight fishing e-book that is one of the best fishing books I've ever read.

If you're going to be booking a trip for March on Fork, best to do it as soon as possible. They book fast.

They will be spawning all over down here by then. Even better if you come on a week day.

In Texas there are several good lakes but Amistad is #1. Youll see fish eat your bait 15ft deep (25ft couple years ago). Be there on a non windy sunny day & it will blow you away.

if i wanna bed fish, i either go to fork or toledo bend. both have clearer water but fish spawn up shallower than the clear lakes. Im not much into bed fishing 15' down, i like 2-3' deep bed fishing!!

Last year on Amistad fish were 6 inches to 15ft. When you can watch fish aquarium style its pretty cool.

Probably the BEST chance at a double digit sight fishing trip is with TTUFisherman on Lake Alan Henry. He does an EXCELLENT job of teaching how to sight fish. Hope this helps.

Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Richie White of course and that is NO joke- but also lots of good lakes in Texas and early March going South will increase your odds- uhh unless the weather screws around with us like usual then all bets are off!
I do not guide or claim to be anywhere near as good as a guide but I do site fish a lot for bigguns pretty much anywhere so if you want pm me before your week off and I'll tell you what I know- may not be much but I'll help you if I can.
