Are there good ones? If so what kind and do they come in pink (color is not primary importance)? She's not goin to be fishing for monsters...

I bought a Pflueger Trion spincast the other day for my wife. They have pink ones as well. I was very impressed at how smooth they are. Hooked a good bass with one and fought it for a while. It didn't self destruct like some others.... A bit heavy tho.

+1 on the Pflueger reels--quality construction, good price, readily available at Wmart, seen them in pink.

Zebco Oemga Pro. The best spincast there is.

I fish a LOT w my Trion and I love it. I have many high dollar baitcasting combos and I leave them all at home when I know I'm fishing areas with anything less than 5-6 pounds. The Trion is so much fun on an ultralight that you may not let her fish it....Pflueger is a quality reel at an awesome price.

Ummmm...sorry...mine is a spinning reel, not spincast....can't help you on the review, but I'm sold on other Pflueger products

Can't go wrong with a Zebco 202, it's been the mainstay for kids forever!

Try Dicks sporting goods if you have one in your area, if not try online. They have several nice combos to choose from. And I think when I was there last they did even have some pink ones to choose from.

I do some guiding and have been using the Diawa Silver and Gold, they are in the $30 range and are pretty good. Have been using them for several years and they keep working. Something else to think about, you use it a couple times, if it is hard for you to use, it will be worse for her.
Good Luck!

The one thing that the Daiwa Silvercast has for it, is that it comes in four different sizes. The Omega comes in two sizes. I would choose the Omega because it has three line pick-ups. Most come with only one. This grabs the line faster, giving you faster hook sets.

All spincast reels have their place. They are usually meant for smaller fish. They are the type of reel that you start off with because of their simplicity. If you are going to pursue larger fish, you need to move up to a spinning reel at the least.

Has anyone fishing with a Synergy Titanium? I just got rid of a Abu Garcia 276, almost lost a crappie on it.
There are sometimes you just want to fish without messing with back lashes and line twists. You just want to fling it and go.
I was hoping I would find a post on this.

I have a couple I bought for my kids. I am not impressed. The line kinks up pretty bad on them.

Dang--thanks for piping up Mudshark, it's appreciated, almost made a mistake buying it. I will have to think about a Pflueger Cetina now. I just don't know about spincasts anymore, it stinks.
