Guys that marine radio is the bomb on the lake. I think it would be a good idea on Hubbard in the winter for dead sticking. Guys like Sea pro Todd and Dr. whiplash would not have to worry about dropping their smart phones in the lake --LOL-- and they float too

I remember you posting this back in the summer about how cool the radio was on lavon. So I put it on the Christmas list and got one this weekend while celebrating Christmas on my wife's side of the family this weekend.
I have never used one so I will read up on how it works, would the Hubbard gang have a certain channel for deadsticking this winter? I know I'll shout out when I am on the lake and catching if others want to join in....

I'm in. Have one on the rig and never turn it on. Name the channel.

I have one, used it on Lavon and Texoma, what is the Hubbard channel?
Lavon is 78
Texoma is 69

Along time ago we all used CB radios on Texoma, they worked very well.
I am glad to see this happen.

Lol. My catching rates go up after donating phones to the fish gods. Try it. rolfmao

Coach, next time you see me or drWhip on the lake come over and we exchange numbers. Its that easy. The guys on hubbard are the nicest folks around. DrWhiplash uses a bull horn instead of a vhf radio to tell everyone where the fish are at. coach coach rolfmao

I had one but gave it away. smile

Hubbard channel 420 for the old timers.

Really we have cell phones and group text but I'm in if that's the direction.

Well since i have had mine I have in my boat every time i go out. ( which hasn't been that often here lately because of work ) We used them over at Lavon and they are really handy. I was talking to Capt Larry from 15 miles away on his base station. Carey got them started over there and they work really good. I like the fact that the weather alerts will come on automatically and also the emergency channel is monitored in case I need them. I am not that reliable answering my texts or rings on my phone because I keep it in the glove box so I won't have to buy another one when I drop it. Any way I am game and i don't really know which channel. 79 maybe???????? I don't know

I like the idea of them in the winter so I don't have to take the gloves off to use the touch screen phone. Easier to hold the walkie talkie button with gloves on. I can see the appeal of the phone in the summer. Official hubbard channel 79???? That sounds good to me!
