While the wife recovered from a nite of drinking I bundled up to 34 degree weather with 12mph winds. I suck at salt water fishing (from San Antonio) and have never caught a speckle trout in my life.(32yrs) so I heAded out to red dot peir in Corpus Christi and with a few tips from another crazy fisherman bearing the cold I hit my first and personal best .
28 inches. We caught a total of 10 keepers in about 2 hours.
I'm hooked now so I'll be back next weekend lol

If I remember correctly, the front hit around 3:00 or so on Thursday afternoon. What day and at what time did you catch this trout?

So you caught this fish pretty much two days after the front hit. Did you notice that it was dead, and then the bite turned on all of a sudden?

There was 5 guys at red dot and 10+ at cos way. Bite was dead all morning I just happen to get there at lunch time when te bite started There is a deep channel and shallow grass flats near the point on dot peir. It was just luck if u ask me or right place right time

My limited understanding is the fish will bite as a front arrives, and then the bite turns off for a couple of days. You arrived at the end of that couple of days. You were definitely there at the right time.

Way to go Chico - what a Speck! Sometimes the fishing gods smile on those who brave the elements.
