TUFF TUFF Fishing Guys!...Put in at Mauldin ramp off Hwy 8 around 6:30 and headed down river. Water is up and very Muddy..Hit a bunch of nice spots, even saw fish grouped together on my Hummingbird HDI. Fished slowly and thoroughly.....nothing nothing and nothing and when the waves started white capping in the creeks it was time to go..My partner Big Will and I were frustrated but we werent the only ones.. There were boats there in a crappie tournament and they were goose eggin it. I Talked with one fellow and he said they had just one and not one bite more. He went on to say he felt like he had wasted his money lol.. Everyone we talked to same sad news, no bites...We fished I kno for a good two mile stretch..we even went past the Herron Creek Boat ramp...Still enjoyed spending time with my fishing buddy, cant be too down, this stuff happens to the best of us and if you say it hasnt you really aint been fishin. We'll get em next time and. We will keep you guys up to date on Wright Patman. God Bless and Tite Lines from. P-GUY Tha King

finding them this time of year, not hard. finding the time they are feeding, different story. If they fed hard at night, they wont sniff your bait in daytime. and vice versa. winter fishing, feast or famine.
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

I didn't get to go today, due to family visit but I'll be there in the AM! Was there any current in the river?

Head up the creek, don't go under the bridge, when the creek starts bending back to the left, ease over and let your graph do the work, there is a nice brush pile right along a drop off just in the apex of the turn. Have limited out many times. Even some days when others were having trouble.

MBarger thanks for the info but we didnt go up river under the bridge, we went left toward Herring creek boat ramp. We fished a little past the first park boat ramp on the left and there was a cove up a litte on the left just past it. I saw brush and fished it. Hmmmm. No takers tho unless we missed the spot ur talking about.

I gave bad directions. If you are facing water at maudlin ramp, straight across should be an area where the brush closes in and water gets narrow. I was talking about going up through there, then when the creek bends left brush pile will be there.

Ohh ok you mean when you shoot down straight stretch and get down to the bridge go left instead of going under the bridge to the right like your going up river? If thats what you mean ok I see where I messed up lol. Is it real shallow where you're fishing or deep?

Straight out from the ramp through the narrow cut ( normally 5ft of water)(Lately the cut through has been covered with Hyacinth) takes you to the lower river channel, cut left and then right and follow channel ,20-25ft water. Any brush piles that were there are no longer there, due to current. But look around on the next left turn of the channel and you may find some good fishing!
