I fished Lake Palestine, flat creek area from mid Feb.- mid June. This was a very poor year. I caught only 1 over, The Crappies moved out of the bay the end of April for the most part for me. Very strange?

Very strange is the description for most of this year. Strong cold fronts in the spring every 4-5 days kept the fish in spawn mode for too long and may not have been a good spawn year. Those fronts kept coming right thru April. Then, the summer pattern seemed to be messed up and the fall pattern didn't materialize as normal. Fish seemed to be stressed from May thru Aug. Finally started to put on weight in Nov. Now we have an early winter with water temps dropping from 66-67 to upper 40s in 4 weeks. Don't normally see water temps in the upper 40s here till late Jan, early Feb if at all. The craziness may continue. And it wasn't just Texas; crappie guys in Miss and Ala were seeing the same things happen there with stressed fish that were thinner than normal.

it sure wasn't as easy as last year .... every lake we visited this year was totally off last years pattern ..... I think a month off is about right as well Ken maybe even plus a bit ... we ketched ready to spawn fish right into late june and early july .... and we had ridiculous shallow bites well into September ? 3 fow on 4 or 5 lakes hundreds of miles apart in the heat of the summer .... don't remember much a that last year for sure

Very strange? never been to Palestine but it seemed to be like the rest of them from what I heard as well we for sure didn't ketch a lot of larger fish like the year before a few here and there , but for sure not darn near every trip I think over here in the west area of the metromess we topped 2 lots less times as last year by maybe a third or even 1 to 5
